Virginia scored early and often on its home pitch as they put a 4-0 drubbing on the Eagles. It started with an own goal in the 10th minute, as Rafael Salama accidentally headed the ball past Antonio Chavez Borelli into the net. In the 22nd minute, UVA was able to capitalize on a corner kick and double its lead. In the 31st minute, UVA was able to get a penalty kick on a Henry Balf foul and capitalized to give themselves a 3-0 lead. In the 40th minute, the Cavaliers finished their scoring and gave themselves a 4-0 lead on a beautiful backheel flick past Chavez Borelli.
Boston College’s season is now complete, as they finished with a 6-10-1 record and graduates three seniors, Henry Balf, Tomas Gudmundsson, and Mohammed Moro. Next year, the Eagles will try to bounce back and reach the NCAA tournament with a core that include Trevor Davock, Callum Johnson, and Simon Enstrom.
