Halftime: Boston College leads La Salle 30-22

Thoughts on the game so far?

NCAA Basketball: Notre Dame at Boston College Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Despite what the score might tell you, this was a high paced, high intensity first half. Both teams have been unable to put the ball in the basket, with BC shooting 40% from the field and 28% from deep. Meanwhile, the La Salle Explorers have shot even worse from the field at 32%, and a measly 16% from three. La Salle’s Pookie Powell has yet to make a three. Meanwhile, Jerome Robinson’s struggles have continued and Jordan Chatman has been unable to find his shot from, going just one-for-five from three point land.

Once again turnovers have been the name of the game for the Eagles. After committing 18 turnovers yesterday against Texas Tech, the Eagles have committed nine in the first half. Most of them have been unforced, including a travel on Bowman that was frankly unforgivable.

The good? The Eagles are owning the boards so far in this one, out rebounding La Salle 23 to 16 with 8 offensive rebounds. They have spread the love so far, as every player except Steffon Mitchell and Jerome Robinson has grabbed an offensive board.
