The Boston College sailing team won the ISSA Atlantic Coast Championships on Sunday, taking first place in the two day event in King’s Point, New York. The Eagles beat a number of teams on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s semifinals, where they faced off with the team from Stanford. In the best of five semifinals, BC raced out to a 2-0 lead before Stanford won the third race. Boston College came back and won the fourth race, however, in order to advance to the finals.
The Eagles faced off with the College of Charleston in the finals, where they took the first race in another best of five series. The College of Charleston won race two and looked poised to take a 2-1 lead when they got out to a lead in the third race, but BC managed to come from behind to take a 2-1 lead of their own. Boston College wrapped things up in the fourth race to take a 3-1 and walk away champions.
