After a season opening beatdown victory over the University of Maine, the Eagles will turn their attention to the South Carolina State Bulldogs. While Jim Christian’s squad fared very well in their opening game, the Bulldogs were on the receiving end of a blowout, falling 85-50 to Wisconsin.
Keys to Beating the Bulldogs
Until the Eagles face Texas Tech on November 18, my keys to victory will always be the same. If they can control the glass, limit turnovers, and win the three point shooting battle, they should be able to win every single game against a mid-major opponent. The Eagles have a smothering defense that, when combined with winning the rebounding battle, the three point shooting battle, and limiting turnovers, prevents the opposition from gaining any momentum. In the Maine game, the Eagles won the rebounding battle by 19 and only turned the ball over eight times. Those will be huge in the SC State game.
Predictions:
Matt: 83-58 Eagles. Bowman and Robinson prove too much for the Bulldogs.
Katie: 80-68 BC
Toppin: 87-65 BC. Hopefully BC gets off to a better start than the opener.
Hoff: 88-58 BC
Food and Non-alcoholic Beverage to enjoy during the game
Stop in Cleveland Circle and grab a tasty burger from Eagle’s Deli, along with some of the best fries around. Combine that with a nice root beer, and you’ve got yourself a treat.
