After Injury Scare Addazio Says That Running Back A.J. Dillon Is “Doing Great”

BC dodged another injury

NCAA Football: Central Michigan at Boston College Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

One of the biggest concerns at the end of the Boston College 28-8 victory over Central Michigan was the health of freshman running back A.J. Dillon. Near the end of the game he got hit pretty hard and needed assistance getting off the field. It looked to be pretty serious, but head coach Steve Addazio addressed this week in his press conference:

Q. What about A.J.? Was he okay after that?

COACH ADDAZIO: Yeah. A.J. is doing really great.

Q. No problems?

COACH ADDAZIO: Not to my knowledge. Not right now.

It appears that Dillon must have just got nicked up on that play, and thankfully it is nothing too serious. He is becoming an integral part of the offense, and will be needed against a stout Virginia Tech Hokies defense that is 29th in the country, allowing only 115 yards per game.

Dillon is the 2nd leading rusher on Boston College, with 298 yards and two touchdowns this season, he is averaging 3.77 yards per carry.
