Boston College Men’s Hockey vs. Denver Preview

Tonight, BC faces the reigning NCAA champs

BC hockey is struggling so far this season. As a young team opening the year with a tough slate (no, for real, this is a fact and not an excuse), this might not be surprising, but it is disappointing. Tonight, BC returns to Conte after 3 games away to face Denver, the reigning national champs. If the Eagles want any chance of winning this game they will need to 1) stay out of the penalty box and 2) finish their chances. Last night, BC was assessed 10 penalties. When you’re a team that isn’t full of prolific scorers, playing so much of the game shorthanded is a real barrier to victory.

Ice Cream of the Game

Many of our other previews feature a beverage of the game, but this year we’ll be picking an ice cream dessert of the game for MIH games. Why, you ask? Because when Jerry York got the BC coaching job, he went out for ice cream sundaes to celebrate.

After tonight’s game, you’ll either need to drown your sorrows in ice cream or you’ll be ready to celebrate big time soooo...

Cat Predictions

Every game, we have the cats of the Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter (located right across from BC at 30 Undine Road) predict the outcome of the games. The Gifford Cat Shelter is the oldest cageless, no-kill shelter in the USA.

This week, CC is following in the steps of cats before her and making a bold choice - she predicts a 2-0 BC victory.
