The Boston College onslaught continued against Florida State, as a fumble by the Seminoles' Tarvarus McFadden set BC up with 1st and 10 at the FSU 11. Three AJ Dillon runs later, and BC was again in the end zone, as the true freshman running back locked up his third career 100-yard rushing game early in the third.
Then, with four minutes left in the period, Florida State went into full-on desperation mode, attempting to covert a 4th and 1 at its own 24. The Eagle defense rallied to stop Cam Akers in the backfield, and moments later, BC extended its lead to on a 1-yard touchdown run by backup quarterback Darius Wade.
If there was a negative to come out of this sequence, it was the fact that starting quarterback Anthony Brown was shaken up on an 11-yard scramble down to the FSU 1-yard line. The redshirt freshman stayed down on the field for several minutes after the run, leading to Darius Wade entering the game and scoring on 4th and goal at the 1.
