How to Watch: Florida State at Boston College

It’s the Red Bandana Game. It’s Florida State. What more could one want?

NCAA Football: Boston College at Virginia Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

To be honest at this point I think we’re in the twilight zone. The Eagles putting up 40+ in consecutive upsets? Florida State 2-4? A group of Seminoles with a losing record enter Alumni on Friday night to take on a surging Boston College, but don’t let the record fool you. FSU has barely lost to Miami, NC State, and Louisville. Alabama is the only team that kicked them across the field and ‘Bama does that to everyone. Can the Noles rebound away from home? Or are the Eagles for real?

Watch Parties!

New York

This week at Dewey’s Pub, a 7pm reservation will get you a whole lot: free Bud Light and Sam Adams before the game starts, and free Bud Light for all at 7:30. Then, at halftime, Dewey’s will be busting out the jell-o shots and more Bud. All of the usual food specials, from the Lower Dining Hall Steak & Cheese to the New England Classic from Hillside, will continue as well. At Joshua Tree this week, there will be a huge variety of food and drink specials, in addition to all they usually they do for BC Alumni. Both places will be giving out free red bandanas, so get out and get loud.

Miami and Fort Luderdale

The Boston College Alumni's Miami & Fort Lauderdale Chapters are hosting a watch party for the FSU game tonight at Duffy’s Sports Grill (3969 Northeast 163rd StreetNorth Miami Beach, FL 33160). There will be good times had by all and, in the most Florida of sentences, “plenty of parking, including a dock for your boat.”

BC’s BEST CHANCE TO WIN

Who even knows at this point. This could be a shootout. This could be a 13-10 grindfest. FSU’s talent cannot be ignored though, and the defense will need to force James Blackman to beat them in the air. If Cam Akers and Jacques Patrick get going outside of the tackles, it’ll be a long day for Harold Landry and Zach Allen on the edge. Offensively, the play calling needs to continue to play to Anthony Brown’s strengths this week while continuing to lean on AJ Dillon and Jon Hilliman. 2 weeks ago I would’ve waved the white flag before kickoff, but now BC has better than an outside shot at this one.
