In the final men’s soccer game of the year on Newton, men’s soccer lost its senior night game to No. 2 Wake Forest. Despite playing the Demon Deacons tough in the first half, (it was 1-0 at the break) the Eagles conceded three second half goals to ultimately lose 4-0. It took Wake until the final seconds of the first half to break through and take a lead against a stingy Boston College defense.
To start the second half, the scoreline would remain the second half until the 68th minute, when Wake’s Omir Fernandez doubled the lead. Only eight minutes later, Wake would take a 3-0 lead off of another Fernandez goal. In the 78th minute, Henry Balf was upset with a foul call, and, after contesting the call, was shown a red, forcing the Eagles to play a man down. In the 83rd minute, the Eagles conceded another goal to fall behind 4-0, which was the final scoreline.
BC will finish its season at NC State on Friday night.
