Eagles in the Pros, 10/9-10/15: Alex Tuch and Ian McCoshen Score First Career NHL Goals

Also featuring Scott Savage’s first pro goal, a strong week from Brian Gibbons, and a shutout for Thatcher Demko.

NHL

Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets): Atkinson scored his second goal of the season (a fancy rebound shot) in Columbus’ comeback win over the Wild last week.

Brian Boyle (New Jersey Devils): Boyle has not yet returned from medical leave.

Paul Carey (New York Rangers): Carey saw ice time in 2 of NY’s 3 games last week.

Brian Dumoulin (Pittsburgh Penguins): Dumoulin saw 20+ minutes of ice time in all 3 of Pittsburgh’s games last week.

Patrick Eaves (Anaheim Ducks): Eaves scored the GWG in Anaheim’s victory over the Islanders last week with a quick one-timer from the circle.

Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames): Gaudreau picked up 5 points over 4 games last week - 4 assists and a goal. He scored in Calgary’s 5-2 victory over the Canucks with a classic Gaudreau & Monahan power-play setup.

Brian Gibbons (New Jersey Devils): Gibbons had a stellar week, recording 2 goals and 2 assists over 4 games. His second goal was a rebound shorthanded goal.

Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes): Hanifin assisted on the only Hurricanes goal in a loss to the Jets.

Jimmy Hayes (New Jersey Devils): After a solid first week with the Devils, Hayes slowed down last week, amassing only 2 SOG over 4 games.

Kevin Hayes (New York Rangers): Hayes scored his first goal of the season (and the only NY goal of the game) in the Rangers’ 3-1 loss to Columbus.

Chris Kreider (New York Rangers): Kreider recorded 8 SOG and 8 hits over 3 games.

Michael Matheson (Florida Panthers): Matheson had an uneventful week on the ice, but signed an 8 year contract to remain with Florida.

Ian McCoshen (Florida Panthers): McCoshen scored his first goal of the season in Florida’s win over the Blues. This was his first career NHL goal.

Brooks Orpik (Washington Capitals): Orpik recorded 12 hits and 10 blocks over 4 games.

Zach Sanford (St. Louis Blues): Sanford is injured.

Steve Santini (New Jersey Devils): Santini assisted on the first Devils’ goal in the team’s win over Toronto - a goal scored by fellow former Eagle, Miles Wood.

Cory Schneider (New Jersey Devils): Schneider went 2-1 last week. He made 23 saves against the Sabres and Capitals, and a career high 47 saves against the Maple Leafs.

Alex Tuch (Vegas Golden Knights): Tuch scored his first career NHL goal and assist in Vegas’ win over the Bruins.

Colin White (Ottawa Senators): White is injured.

Miles Wood (New Jersey Devils): Wood had a terrific week, scoring 3 goals (including 2 against Toronto). The highlight for BC fans was his goal off of a Steve Santini shot.

Austin Cangelosi (Binghamton Devils): Cangelosi played in 1 of Binghamton’s 2 games last week.

Tommy Cross (Providence Bruins): Cross scored a goal in Providence’s 3-2 loss to the Marlies.

Thatcher Demko (Utica Comets): Demko earned 2 wins last week, including a 33 save shutout.

Ryan Fitzgerald (Providence Bruins): Fitzgerald played in both of Providence’s games last week, but was quiet on offense.
