Despite falling behind 2-0, Boston College men’s soccer was able to come from behind and top UConn, 3-2 in double OT. In the 9th minute, UConn was able to grab an early lead through Abdou Mbacke Thiam for his ninth goal of the year. It would remain 1-0 in favor of the Huskies until the 77th minute, when they would double their lead. Austin DiSilva was the Husky who would finish, managing to dribble past Antonio Chavez Borelli for his second goal of the year and UConn’s second goal of the night.
Only three minutes later, Simon Enstrom would cut the deficit in half off of an assist from Callum Johnson. Then, in the 90th minute, Joshua Forbes would head in a deep throw from Rafael Salama for the equalizer, sending the game into OT.
In the second overtime period, Callum Johnson would corral a failed clearance by a UConn defender and one-time it past the keeper for the 3-2 Eagle victory. BC will return to the field on Saturday, October 21, at 6 PM against Wake Forest on senior night.
