This afternoon, the Eagles will play their first road game of the season as they head to Providence to take on the Friars. This will also be BC’s first Hockey East contest of the year. This is a big game for BC - the team needs to pick up a win early in the season to avoid getting into a hole of losses.
The Eagles have struggled to score so far this season, but did get more chances against Wisconsin than they did against QU. Finishing chances and capitalizing on rebounds will be a must for BC to win a game. The Friars are coming off of two away wins against Miami of Ohio, so between that confidence and a the home crowd, this will be a tough one for BC.

Ice Cream of the Game
Many of our other previews feature a beverage of the game, but this year we’ll be picking an ice cream dessert of the game for MIH games. Why, you ask? Because when Jerry York got the BC coaching job, he went out for ice cream sundaes to celebrate.
For Providence, we suggest a simple chocolate chip ice cream in honor of the Friars’ weird unofficial dalmatian mascot.
Every game, we have the cats of the Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter (located right across from BC at 30 Undine Road) predict the outcome of the games. The Gifford Cat Shelter is the oldest cageless, no-kill shelter in the USA.
Traveller is scared of the Friar, so he is picking BC by a score of 4-1.
Laura: BC 2, Providence 2
AJ: Providence 4, BC 1
