The Boston College Eagles won an evenly matched game against Northeastern today to remain undefeated in non-conference play. Sarah Dwyer made 6 saves in the match to help the Eagles earn a 2-1 victory.
Boston College’s Fusine Govaert scored the only goal of the first period with an assist from Alesandra Miller (who set up both BC goals). The Eagles took a 1-0 lead into the second half, but Northeastern tied things up at 48:32. Junior Frederique Haverhals scored off of a corner at 64:20 to secure the victory for BC. This was her first GWG of the season.
This was the Eagles final home game of the 2017 season. Seniors Brooke Matherson, Chelcie Mendonca, Alesandra Miller, and Justine Sheehan were honored prior to the game.
Boston College has 3 games remaining in the 2017 regular season. On Sunday, the Eagles head to Boston University to look to extend their non-conference winning streak. Next week, they will look to earn their first ACC win of the season when they take on Wake Forest. They will then close out the season at UConn on Sunday, October 29.
