It certainly did not start off the way the Eagles wanted it to against Central Michigan yesterday, with a pretty embarrassing safety to start the game. But after that, the Eagles put their foot on the gas and physically dominated the Chippewas. The defense, led by Zach Allen and Lukas Denis, held the visitors to under 300 yards of offense for the day, capped off by 3 turnovers. Special teams highlights included Michael Walker slicing through kick coverage multiple times, and the offense rolled behind career days for both running backs. AJ Dillon eclipsed 100 yards for the first time in his young career and Jon Hilliman recorded three total touchdowns.
It wasn’t as convincing as some fans might have wanted, but a win is a win is a win. The Eagles rise to 2-3 (0-2 ACC) ahead of a home clash with the lethal Virginia Tech under the lights next Saturday.
