The women’s basketball team continued to struggle in ACC play today, losing to Syracuse by a score of 79-52. The Eagles managed to keep things competitive in the first half and entered the third quarter only down by 5 points, but Syracuse ran away with the game in the second half.
Kelly Hughes led BC in today’s match, scoring 12 point and recording 8 rebounds. Comparatively, Syracuse’s Brittney Sykes led all players in the game with 21 points and 10 rebounds, earning a double-double.
The Eagles continue to be hurt by excessive turnovers, something they’ll need to get under control if they want to win any more ACC games this year. BC had 24 turnovers in today’s game. Syracuse scored 27 points off of BC’s turnovers, which was also the point differential in the win. Taylor Ortlepp, Mariella Fasoula, and Kelly Hughes had 4 turnovers apiece.
BC returns to action at 7 PM on Thursday night, taking on Georgia Tech at Conte.
