BC women’s basketball fell to Pittsburgh tonight in their second ACC match of the season. The Eagles lost by a score of 56-43. The Eagles particularly struggled on offense and scored only 14 points in the first half.

The Eagles were led by freshman Emma Guy, who scored 12 points and made 7 rebounds. Mariella Fasoula and Kelly Hughes, BC’s usual leaders, were held to 8 points apiece. Georgia Pineau and Martina Mosetti each recorded 5 points in the game.

The Eagles had their best period in the third, outscoring Pittsburgh 14-11, but they were unable to stage a comeback. In general, this game was a return to the poor play that this team exhibited early in the season. This was a winnable game for the Eagles and the loss is concerning considering the caliber of teams they will be facing as the season continues.

BC returns to action on Sunday at 2 PM, when they will face Syracuse on the road.
