USA Hockey announced yesterday that Cayla Barnes will captain the U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team that will compete at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship. Barnes is committed to Boston College and will join BC’s women’s hockey team in the fall of 2017.

Barnes is making her third appearance on the U-18 National Team, having won gold with them in 2015 and 2016. Barnes also captained the U.S. Women's Under-18 Select Team that played a 3 game series against Canada from August 18-21 in 2016

Barnes recently made her U.S. Women’s National Team debut, joining 8 current and former Eagles for the December 17 and 19 games against Canada. She is highly touted recruit that will be able to make an early impact for Boston College. Fans should expect to see her continuing to make U.S. Women’s National Team rosters.

The 2017 U-18 Women’s World Championship will be held from January 7-14 at PSG Arena in Zlin, Czech Republic.
