Women’s Hockey Earns Third Straight Hockey East Rookie of the Month Honors

Hockey East announced today that Delaney Belinskas has been named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for December. This is the third straight Hockey East Rookie of the Month honor for BC - Caitrin Lonergan earned the designation in October and November. An Eagle has been named HEA Rookie of the Month every month so far this season.

Belinskas recorded 5 points in the 2 games that BC played in December and led all Hockey East freshman in scoring for the month. She averaged 1 goal per game, 1.5 assists per game, and 2.5 points per game during December, putting her at the top for NCAA rookies. Belinskas is tied for ninth in Hockey East (with teammate Andie Anastos) with 20 points. She is 4th in Hockey East points with 16 in league play and 2nd in goals with 10 in league play.

Most of Belinskas’ December points came against Providence, where she recorded 2 goals and 2 assists. She also picked up a helper against Dartmouth. Belinskas is in the midst of a 6-game point streak, the longest streak on the time right now. He streak includes a 3-game multiple-point streak.

Andie Anastos also earned honors this month, earning Hockey East Warrior Player of the Month recognition. Anastos scored 7 points in December, leading all Hockey East players for the month.
