Boston College Women’s Tennis Earns First Win of Spring Season

The Boston College women’s tennis team won their first victory of the season yesterday at Yale after opening spring play with a loss to Virginia. Lexi Borr and Dasha Possokhova are now both 2-0 and singles play this spring.

The Eagles earned the doubles point for the event, winning 2 of the 3 matches. Lexi Borr and Emily Safron earned a 6-3 win over their opponents and Jackie Urbinati and Asiya Dair earned a 6-4 win. Kylie Wilcox and Dasha Possokhova dropped the first doubles match of the game 6-4.

The Eagles won 4 singles matches and lost 2. Borr and Possokhova both won their individual games to improve to 2-0 on the season. Freshman Kylie Wilcox won her match 6-1, 7-5, and Jackie Urbinati earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory in her singles season debut. Emily Safron lost her first singles match of this spring season against Yale, while Asiya Dair dropped to 0-2 in singles play.

The Eagles continue Ivy play tomorrow as they head to Dartmouth.
