Eagles in the Pros 1/16-1/22: Miles Wood Earns New Jersey a Win

Featuring Wood’s first multi-point NHL game, 6 assists from Teddy Dohery, and great goaltending from Brad Barone

NHL

Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets): Atkinson kept up his streak of dominating the NHL and helping Columbus win games last week. He had two multi-point games: one with a pair of assists and one with a pair of goals. He scored the final regulation goal for Columbus in a 7-6 win over Ottawa as well as netting the OT winner.

Brian Boyle (Tampa Bay Lightning): Boyle picked up a goal and an assist last week. He scored the game-winner to beat LA, tipping the puck off an opposing player.

Patrick Eaves (Dallas Stars): Eaves scored two goals and recorded 3 assists last week. He scored off a rebound in a 7-6 win over the Rangers and netted a goal off a loose puck in a loss to the Caps.

Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames): Gaudreau picked up an assist in Calgary’s loss to Nashville.

Brian Gionta (Buffalo Sabres): Gionta recorded 2 assists in a loss to the Maple Leafs. He scored his 10th goal of the season in a victory over Montreal by knocking in a rebound.

Stephen Gionta (New York Islanders): Gionta picked up the only assist on NY’s first goal in a 4-2 win over the Kings.

Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes): Hanifin played in 2 of Carolina’s 3 games last week. He was a healthy scratch for the third.

Jimmy Hayes (Boston Bruins): Hayes was a healthy scratch yet again last week.

Kevin Hayes (New York Rangers): Hayes recorded 2 helpers last week.

Chris Kreider (New York Rangers): Kreider had 1 goal and 2 assists last week. He scored the fourth Rangers goal in a wild 7-6 loss to Dallas.

Mike Matheson (Florida Panthers): Matheson had 3 SOG and 7 blocks over 3 games last week.

Miles Wood (New Jersey Devils): Wood record 1 assist in a win over the Wild and recorded 2 goals in a victory over the Flyers for his first multi-point NHL game. Wood’s first goal came off a rush, while the second was scored from right in front off the net off a great pass.

AHL

Patrick Brown (Charlotte Checkers): Brown averaged 2 SOG per game last week.

Paul Carey (Hershey Bears): Carey recorded a goal in Hershey’s 5-3 loss to the Penguins.

Tommy Cross (Providence Bruins): Cross had 5 shots on goal and 1 fight last week.

Thatcher Demko (Utica Comets): Demko did not play last week.

Brian Gibbons (Albany Devils): Gibbons assisted on the GWG in Albany’s 3-2 win over Syracuse.
