Mariella Fasoula Leads Women’s Basketball to an ACC Victory

BC’s win over Clemson was their 6th in a row.

The BC women’s basketball team is now 1-0 in the ACC following a 60-48 win over Clemson last night. The Eagles were lead by Mariella Fasoula, who had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Fasoula appears to have recovered from the sprained ankle that was troubling her at the conclusion of last semester. Georgia Pineau also continues to impress - she had 14 points and 8 rebounds in the game.

The Eagles had their best quarter in the first, shooting 61.5%. BC relied on Emilee Daley and Kelly Hughes to secure the lead at the end of the game. Daley scored 2 3-pointers while Hughes recorded 3 in a row, helping BC to run away with the game.

Clemson is a pretty evenly matched team to BC, so this is a solid win but not a super surprising one. BC will need to continue to improve their shooting accuracy, which was a little weaker last night than it has been recently. BC is looking better from the free throw line, and their passing continues to look much cleaner.

The Eagles return to play on Thursday at 7 PM in Pittsburgh.
