Zeiko Lewis has been drafted 17th overall by the New York Red Bulls in today’s MLS SuperDraft.
Lewis was a major factor in BC’s success this fall and was able to lead the team into postseason play. Lewis scored 3 game-winning goals as a senior, including 2 in the postseason. He led BC with 19 points and was tied for first on the team with 7 goals.
Lewis has been a star player for BC since he was a freshman. He started 17 games as a rookie and led the ACC with 11 assists, and led the Eagles in both assists and points. Lewis was named a captain as a sophomore, and continued to lead BC in assists despite having a less productive season than his first.
Lewis started all 21 matches for BC as a junior. He again led the team in assists (8), and assisted on two game-winning goals in tournament play.
After a successful senior season, Lewis was invited to the 2017 MLS Combine. A strong combine caused his draft stock to rise, and he was ultimately chosen 17th.
Good luck to Lewis as he pursues his pro soccer career!
