Boston College fell to Georgia Tech in a close 71-67 match tonight, and drops to 1-3 in the ACC. The Eagles were down 45-31 at the half and were able to stage a bit of a comeback, but not enough to earn a victory.
The Eagle continue to be plagued by sloppy play, particularly in terms of turnovers. The Eagles allowed 27 turnovers, and Georgia Tech scored 31 points off of those turnovers. BC also allowed Georgia Tech to make 19 steals, and the Eagles recorded no blocks. BC also fell short in rebounding, which is something they were doing much better with up until tonight.
The Eagles did perform well from behind the free throw line, shooting 65.2% compared to Georgia Tech’s 30.4%.
The Eagles were led by Mariella Fasoula, who returned to form with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Kelly Hughes contributed 15 points for the Eagles, and freshmen Emma Guy and Taylor Ortlepp recorded 11 and 9 points respectively.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday at 2 PM - they will face Virginia in Virginia.
