Eagles in the Pros 1/2-1/8: Parker Milner Earns 3 Wins, Including 1 Shutout

Featuring great goaltending from Parker Milner, Thatcher Demko, and Cory Schneider, and 2 goal games from Kevin Hayes and Kate Leary.

NHL

Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets): Atkinson scored in the Blue Jackets’ win over Edmonton and loss to NY. Both were power-play goals. His Edmonton goal was deflected off a defender’s leg, and his NY goal was a one-timer off a tricky pass.

Brian Boyle (Tampa Bay Lightning): Boyle missed last week with a lower body injury.

Patrick Eaves (Dallas Stars): Eaves scored his 14th goal of the season in Dallas’ loss to St. Louis, netting a rebounded shot. Eaves has been terrific about getting into position to score the gritty goals this year.

Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames): Gaudreau scored a classic Johnny goal against Colorado and picked up an assist against Vancouver.

Brian Gionta (Buffalo Sabres): Gionta scored the game-winning goal to lead Buffalo to victory over the Jets, skating with the puck until he had a good shot. Gionta also picked up an assist last week (against the Rangers).

Stephen Gionta (New York Islanders): Gionta was brought up to the Islanders but has yet to crack the lineup.

Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes): Hanifin helped to set up the game-winner in Carolina’s 4-2 win over St. Louis last week.

Jimmy Hayes (Boston Bruins): Hayes had 4 hits and 3 SOG over 3 games last week. He was a healthy scratch for Boston’s first game last week.

Kevin Hayes (New York Rangers): Hayes scored twice in the Rangers’ victory over the Flyers and picked up a helper in their win over Columbus. Hayes scored on a mini-breakaway for the first goal of the game and then converted on a wrister later in the game.

Chris Kreider (New York Rangers): Kreider scored in NY’s 5-2 win over the Flyers last week, scoring off a great feed from a teammate.

Mike Matheson (Florida Panthers): Matheson continues to see significant ice time for Florida and played in all 3 of the Panthers’ games last week.

Brooks Orpik (Washington Capitals): Orpik recorded 7 hits over 3 games last week and maintained a positive +/- .

Steve Santini (New Jersey Devils): Santini assisted on Woods’ goal against Edmonton, as well as picking up an assist against Boston.

Cory Schneider (New Jersey Devils): Schneider made 41 saves in a loss to Edmonton. Schneider made 29 saves in a victory over Carolina and saved all 22 shots he faced against Boston. Schneider was pulled from a game against Toronto after allowing 3 goals.

Ben Smith (Toronto Maple Leafs): Smith is out with an injury.

Miles Wood (New Jersey Devils): Wood scored a great goal against Edmonton, but NJ lost the game. Wood also recorded 2 assists last week.

AHL

Patrick Brown (Charlotte Checkers): Brown scored Charlotte’s final goal in a 5-2 loss to Chicago.

Paul Carey (Hershey Bears): Carey scored this great goal in a loss to Utica:

Tommy Cross (Providence Bruins): Cross had 3 assists and a goal over 3 games last week, picking up an assist in each of his team’s games.

Thatcher Demko (Utica Comets): Demko made 36 saves to help Utica defeat Hershey.

Brian Gibbons (Albany Devils): Gibbons had a goal and an assist in Albany’s victory over St. John’s - his goal was the game-winner.
