After a two-win week, the BC women's soccer team has moved up 9 spots in the rankings, jumping from 22nd to 13th. The Eagles are 5-0-1 and are on a 4 game winning streak.
Last week BC played Cincinnati and Pacific. On Friday the Eagles defeated Cincinnati by a score of 2-0 and despite the low score BC dominated the game. The Eagles played Pacific on Sunday, gaining a decisive 5-1 win against the Bearcats.
BC has held their opponents to 3 goals so far, and have scored 18 goals themselves. McKenzie Meehan leads the Eagles with 5 goals and 1 assist, and is 8 points away from breaking the team's career points record. The Eagles have also seen great contributions from freshmen, including Jenna Bike (2 goals, 4 assists), Kayla Jennings (redshirt freshman - 4 goals), and Erin Seppi (1 shutout, .8 save percentage).
The Eagles have yet to take on an ACC team - their first ACC game is against Duke on September 17. Other ACC teams in the top 25 this week include FSU (2), Virginia (3), Duke (5), UNC (7), Clemson (14), Virginia Tech (17), and Notre Dame (25).
This week, the Eagles will take on two Boston rivals. On Wednesday they host Harvard at home, and they head to Northeastern on Sunday afternoon to play the Huskies.
