Women's Soccer Falls to Louisville

The Eagles gave up a 2-0 lead in their 2nd loss of the season.

The women's soccer team lost just their second game of the season yesterday in an OT loss to Louisville. The Eagles are now 9-2-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the ACC. They have dropped back down in the polls and are now ranked 24th.

BC and Louisville were esentially evenly matched statistically throughout the game, although the Eagles had 10 corners to Lousiville's 5.

BC started out strong thanks to two goals from freshman Olivia Vaughn. This was Vaughn's first two-goal game as an Eagle. Vaughn's first goal was a header off a corner kick at minute 26. Her second goal came just over 10 minutes later after collecting a loose ball.

Louisville scored 74 minutes into the game off a penalty kick and they tied the game in the final minute of play. The game went into two overtime periods, although the 2nd didn't last long - Louisville scored just 20 seconds in to complete a comeback win.

The Eagles will take the field again on Sunday at 1 PM when they host NC State.
