CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.,- The Boston College Eagles started their four game homestand on a high note Saturday afternoon, defeating its annual FCS sacrifice, the Wagner College Seahawks 42-10 in front of an opening day crowd at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Eagles’ defense held Wagner to 107 yards of total offense on the day. In addition, following the first score by the Seahawks, BC outscored Wagner 42-3 to cruise to victory. Of note, the Eagles were flagged on seven different occasions, costing the team a total of 85 yards. The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 1 against the State University of Buffalo Bulls at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff will be at 1:00 PM at Alumni Stadium, and the game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and WEEI 850. It will part of the festivities surrounding the annual tradition of Parents’ Weekend at Boston College.
Wagner warmed up for BC by playing two DII teams this year. Just some food for thought

Plenty of time til kickoff means plenty of time to kill these press box pretzels. pic.twitter.com/C92U9ril05

@bcinterruption wrong type of salted pretzels!

@bcinterruption from @BCAlumni insta post it looks like there are hundreds and hundreds of fans for today's game.
— Will Bartlett (@bartlettwill) September 24, 2016
BC should definitely try to get more ads on the scoreboard. pic.twitter.com/DlERAc2YwV

About a 30 min away from the Battle of the Birds here at Boston College. Eagles hosting the Wagner Seahawks.

15 minutes til kickoff, and we may have more people on the field than in the stands. Let's fill this thing in guys! pic.twitter.com/HuZR9u1cQV
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
@bcinterruption Typical CrookedBCI showing our crowds before the event. Attendance will be HUGE. I'm hearing might be the biggest crowd EVER
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) September 24, 2016
Wagner wins the toss, and will receive.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Overheard in the press box: "This is like an intimate gathering... I've never seen this place this empty."
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
A short punt takes a Wagner bounce to the Seahawk 45. Only 26 yards on the punt.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
What just happened?!?! Seahawk QB Alex Thomson has nowhere to throw, so he just takes it himself for a 55 yard touchdown run.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Oh boy. Quarterback draw for Wagner. Alex Thompson runs 55 yards. Great play. Seahawks have a 7-0 lead.
— Michael Sullivan (@MichaelJSully) September 24, 2016
Alex Thomson takes it 55 yards for the score. Wagner leads 7-0. pic.twitter.com/6h3e6BCC8z
— Annabel Steele (@Steele_Heights) September 24, 2016
@bcinterruption @meatstweets @lebrownlow if Wagner scores a TD but no one is there to see it, does it count? #WAGvsBC
— Luke Beakly (@LukeBeakly) September 24, 2016
BC is actually losing to Wagner. This is not a drill.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) September 24, 2016
And BC just fair caught a kickoff at the 20... What is going on?!?!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Oh, but Wagner was offside on the kick, so BC gets bailed out. We'll kick it again.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
And Rouse takes advantage of his second chance at returning that one, going all the way to the Wagner 44. They needed that.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
And Hilliman breaks one off the left side for 41 yards. All the way down to the Seahawk 4.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
And Hilliman powers his way in for a 1 yard TD! Don't think BC even had a WR on the field for that drive. All power football.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
EXTRA POINT IS GOOD GO CRAZY FOLKS pic.twitter.com/o18CUOEqq5
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
What idiot is running the AV system here? Piercing eagle shriek just as BC hikes the point after try. @bcinterruption
— Michael at Law (@michaelatlaw) September 24, 2016
Hilliman again for 8. Showing good patience, and obviously he is just really tough to bring down for these Wagner defenders.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Forget I said that. Wagner throws Hilliman for a loss of 1.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
They toss it to Hilliman off the right side on 3rd and 3, but he's just a bit short. 4th and 1.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Addazio sticking with the Hilliman run up the gut over and over and over and over and over and ove
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
And Towles runs it for a 1st down. When you've got a 6-foot-5, 250 lb QB, you can do that.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Also when, you know, you actually go for it on fourth down. https://t.co/jHF0dowsw2
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) September 24, 2016
Glad that Addazio decided to go conservative against a powerhouse like Wagner
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
The hockey team almost just had their knees taken out. KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE SIDELINES.
— Adam M (@adamar108) September 24, 2016
*Sees football player plow into the hockey team on the sidelines and holds breath*
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) September 24, 2016
Towles can't find anyone again, but he cuts it back and runs 17 yards for a touchdown! Eagles lead 14-7 after the Knoll extra point.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Both of Knoll's PATs have been dead center just so you know.
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) September 24, 2016
Rouse opens the 2nd with a big punt return down to the Wagner 20, but a block in the back will negate it.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
BC will instead start at its own 29, where Hilliman carries for 3.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
@bcinterruption This guy's pants #1976bceagles pic.twitter.com/jtmSAi4qMr
— Mark Radzik (@M_Radz) September 24, 2016
Wagner runs its up the gut for a loss, but BC gets called for a personal foul (hands to the face). 4th down becomes 1st down for Wagner.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Penalty came after the play too.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
And Wagner hits the field goal. BC still leads, but it's 14-10 now. That was an 11-play Wagner drive resulting in points, but at least no TD
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Let me save some reporters and fans some time from having to listen to the Addazio postgame....
— ERIC HOFFSES (@EAHoffses) September 24, 2016
That Wagner team is a good team now. Dont be mistaken. They beat St.Anselm by 22 points and that is a darn good DII Program.
— ERIC HOFFSES (@EAHoffses) September 24, 2016
A lot of schools play cupcakes to start the year. We played a really really talented Wagner team that beat up on some real good DII teams
— ERIC HOFFSES (@EAHoffses) September 24, 2016
If you can read this you have a more innovative offensive playbook than Steve Addazio
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
Towles throws the deep out to Michael Walker, who makes a fantastic grab at the BC 42. That converts a 3rd and 11 for the Eagles.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
There it is! Towles hits Jeff Smith on the deep post and he scores the 58-yard touchdown!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Hey look you called a play action and there was no way Wagner could cover it. Novel idea
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
Davon Jones shows some great patience, and a hole opens up for him. He carries it for 25 yards and a BC 1st down.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Wagner has no answer to the BC running game
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
Was waiting for BC to start the exert their will, they are finally there
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
@bcinterruption why does it seem so few students are wearing Superfan shirts this year?
— Jeff Martyn (@BCIntJeff) September 24, 2016
I dunno, but it has to be said that the student section is impressively full all things considered. Probably 90%. https://t.co/7izpdkmqff
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Shout out to the old guy sitting behind me that continues to scream "FOR HERE MEN ARE MEN" everytime the fight song is played
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
Not perfect, but at least BC has grabbed control of this one heading into the half.https://t.co/YnAbnuDrLh
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Alright Wade for the 2nd half please
— Grant Salzano (@Salzano14) September 24, 2016
Please put in Wade please put in Wade please put in Wade please put in Wade please put in Wade please put in Wade please put in Wade please
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Hilliman does the rest from there, getting the corner for a 6-yard touchdown run!
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
They just announced the attendance at 22,728. Make of that what you will.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
BC has found a way to make me bored watching football.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) September 24, 2016
Walker catches a screen, and takes it for a 27-yard touchdown! There was a flag on the play, but the officials pick it up.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
You guys we've made 6 extra points today. And haven't missed one.
— Adam M (@adamar108) September 24, 2016
The Eagles head to garbage time with a comfortable lead.https://t.co/VuIe5SQ8a4
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
Leaving this game, this is boring. Glad to see a win but boring nonetheless
— A.J. Black (@BCHysteria) September 24, 2016
Darius Wade in at quarterback for BC, and he's leading a drive. BC inside the Wagner 10.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
But a drop on 4th and 2 ends the Eagle drive deep in Wagner territory.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
That'll do it. BC tops Wagner 42-10.
— BC Interruption (@bcinterruption) September 24, 2016
FCS games are stupid.
— Arthur Bailin (@arthurbailin) September 24, 2016
