The Eagles are in the win column after last week’s victory over UMass - BC’s first win since topping Northern Illinois last year in Week 4. It had been a long time coming. Pre-game pub/tailgate: We’re not aware of an organized BC gathering in Blacksburg. If you know of one, let us know.
Gameday storyline: We’re in to week 3 of the season but it’s still tough to handicap both BC and Virginia Tech. The Eagles looked much improved against Georgia Tech, particularly on offense, but once again were unable to make the big plays necessary to pull out a win. BC easily handled UMass, but that was to be expected.
Virginia Tech has had two games that also haven’t told us much about what to expect today, results-wise. They beat a poor Liberty team, then lost heavily to Tennessee last week. The Hokies played well early in the game, but turnovers helped do them in. They’re now also sitting at 1-1 and wondering what to make of their chances for the season to come.
This is a huge game for both teams, and it should be an interesting one!
