Women's Soccer Earns 5th Shutout, Defeats LIU Brooklyn 2-0

The Eagles are 8-0-1

The women's soccer team defeated LIU Brooklyn this evening, earning their 8th win and 5th shutout of the year. The Blackbirds have yet to win a game this season.

BC held LIU to only 3 shots during the game. The Eagles registered 31 shots.

Despite dominating possesion throughout the match, BC was only able to score 2 goals. The first Eagles goal was scored by Hayley Dowd 7 minutes into the first half. McKenzie Meehan set up the play, which saw Dowd knocking a one-timer from Gaby Carreiro into the net.

BC's 2nd and final goal came 70 minutes later. Andrea O'Brien caught a ball bouncing around the box and she put it past the goalie. O'Brien's goal was assisted by Dowd and Lauren and Berman.

The Eagles will face their biggest challenge thus far on Saturday, when they travel to ACC rival Duke. Duke is ranked 8th and has a 5-2-1 record.
