Boston College picked up their first win of the season on Saturday - and their first win in nearly a year, overall - downing UMass 26-7. The Eagles overcame initial struggles and an early deficit to ultimately breeze past the Minutemen in the second half. Patrick Towles threw for a pair of first half touchdown passes to get things going for the BC offense.
The Eagles’ defense continued to be ferocious and difficult to beat, especially on the ground. BC held the Minutemen to -23 yards rushing. It’s early days, of course, but BC has situated themselves back at #4 in the country so far in rushing yards allowed, and #4 in overall defense - familiar territory for the Eagles after last year.
