With three seconds left in Sunday's game at Northeastern, it looked like the Eagles were about to lose their first game this season. Despite outshooting the Huskies 23-9 and holding them to a single corner kick, the Eagles were down 1-0 as the seconds wound down due to a Northeastern penalty kick.
As the game neared an end the Eagles put significant pressure on Northeastern's goalie, but were unable to score. Finally, with only 3 seconds on the clock, Lauren Berman shot the ball from the right of the goalie. Senior Andrea O'Brien tipped Berman's shot into the net, sending the game into OT. This was O'Brien's first goal of the season.
The first overtime period was scoreless, despite 2 great chances from Northeastern. Alexis Bryant had to make some tricky saves to keep BC in the game.
Just over a minute into the 2nd overtime period, McKenzie Meehan headed a ball from Jenna Bike into the net. This was Meehan's 18th GWG - she has the most GWGs in program history.
The Eagles are now 7-0-1 and have won 6 games in a row. They play again on Wednesday at home, taking on LIU Brooklyn at 4 PM.
