Boston College Football Preseason Roundtable 2016: Season Predictions

What will be the ultimate outcome of this season?

NCAA Football: Boston College at Clemson Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

The final roundtable of the preseason asks the question: What will BC’s final record be in 2016? Leave your predictions in the comments.

Joe: 8-4: I’m going to go ahead and be optimistic. Why not. It all comes down to the offensive line, and we should get a pretty good idea of how the line is going to look when the team debuts against Georgia Tech. No joke game to start off this season and give false hope. GT - W. UMass - W. VaTech - L. Wagner - W. Buffalo - W. Clemson - L. Syracuse - W. NC State - W. Louisville - L. FSU - L. UConn - W. Wake - W. Put it on the board. See you at the QuickLane Bowl.

Arthur: 9-3: I’m going to be even more optimistic than Joe. I can understand why the common theme in the college football community is that BC is not a strong team given last year, but take away the injuries, put a competent quarterback in and improve the offensive line, and you have a strong football team. I think that’s what BC has this year. I see them ultimately losing to Clemson just because Clemson is the better team (though like I said earlier, Clemson is beatable), and losing to Florida State because FSU is the better team. I see the two toss-up games as Virginia Tech and Louisville. I say they split those two, with the Eagles winning the the game that’s earlier in the season. GT - W. UMass - W. VaTech - W. Wagner - W. Buffalo - W. Clemson - L. Syracuse - W. NC State - W. Louisville - L. FSU - L. UConn - W. Wake - W.

Eric: 7-5: I struggled a bit trying to predict if BC would win the opener vs GT and the home game against L’Ville so I split those two up. GT - W. UMass - W. VaTech - L. Wagner - W. Buffalo - W. Clemson - L. Syracuse - W. NC State - L. Louisville - L. FSU - L. UConn - W. Wake - W.

Grant: 8-4: I’m feeling pretty good about this year, and about the GT game in particular. Everyone’s thinking about 0-fer ACC last year, but people don’t realize how much talent there is on both sides of the ball. This is the most all-around talented BC team in years. Just how far we go is going to be determined by how much progress the O-Line makes. GT - W. UMass - W. VTech - L. Wagner - W. Buffalo - W. Clemson - L. Syracuse - W. NC State - W. Louisville - L. FSU - L. UConn - W. Wake - W. A 9th win wouldn’t shock me, either. I’m all-in on this year’s talent.

AJ: 7-5. I really want to be as optimistic as the other guys on the site, but making a bowl game is progress right? If you ask my fanboy side I have BC doing a lot better, but the logical side has me being a bit more conservative. I have BC beating GT, Wagner, UMass, UConn, Syracuse, Buffalo and Wake.
