Earlier this afternoon, the South Carolina Stingrays announced that they have signed Travis Jeke to a contract. Jeke was a fan favorite at Boston College for stepping up in whatever role was needed. He spent 3 seasons as a defenseman before converting to forward as a senior.
Jeke played 22 games as a freshman, before spending much of his sophomore and junior years on the bench. He then played 37 games as a senior forward. He scored 5 goals and picked up 4 assists for BC, and had a career +/- of +11.
Jeke signed with the Stingrays as a forward, but is capable of switching positions as needed. His willingness to work hard on every shift and fight for pucks will be an asset to South Carolina. Jeke has the ability to bring a lot of energy to a shift, which can help to keep his linemates and teammates motivated.
Jeke is the only former Eagle on the Stingrays, but other Eagles in the Washington system include Parker Milner (AHL), Paul Carey (AHL), and Brooks Orpik (NHL).
