It’s game week! The first piece of news to come out of Chestnut Hill is the naming of this year’s captains. This year Steve Addazio decided to have the same four players be captains all year, instead of the rotating captain system he had going in 2015. The captains were named on Twitter:

Willis, a senior running back, has been a big play athlete for the Eagles ever since he stepped on campus. He ran back a 98 yard return against New Mexico State his freshman season, and is fourth all time in returning yards for the Eagles. He came aboard during Addazio’s first season at the Heights and has done a great job being an ambassador for the Eagles.
Tyler Rouse, another running back has done an admirable job at rising up the running back depth chart. He set a career high with 111 yards and two touchdowns against his hometown team Syracuse in 2014, and was the feature back for the Eagles by the end of 2015. He has 587 all purpose yards, and has become a favorite of head coach Steve Addazio during his time at the Heights.
Truman “War Daddy” Gutapfel is a bad bad man. Last season, he anchored the nation’s leading defense with 26 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks. He looks to again be the leader on one of the best defenses in the country.
Finally, John Johnson has led the resurgence of a BC secondary that has gone from an afterthought to one of the best in the country. Last season Johnson had a career-high 11 tackles against Louisville in 2015, including eight solo stops, and his first career blocked punt, which was returned for a touchdown. In three years with the Eagles, Johnson has 92 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and a recovery. Also, he had probably the best tweet ever announcing his captain-ship.
