The women's soccer team picked up their first home win of the season tonight, defeating Stony Brook University 3-0. Both of Stony Brook's other games this season have gone to double overtime, resulting in one loss and one tie.
The Eagles, who tied with ASU during their first home game of the season last Sunday, dominated the game tonight. BC led with 12 shots on goal to Stony Brook's 4, and freshman Erin Seppi picked up her first collegiate shutout.
BC's star player, McKenzie Meehan, started off the scoring at 8:13 with her first goal of the season. Meehan's goal was assisted by freshman Jenna Bike, who has been an impressive addition to the team thus far.
Meehan followed up her first goal with an unassisted tally at 15:29. Meehan dribbled the ball past two Stony Brook defenders before making her shot. Meehan was the only non-freshman to score a point during the game.
BC scored their final goal at 73:13. Freshman Olivia Vaughn picked up her first collegiate point as the goal scorer.
The Eagles are back in action on Sunday at 7 PM as they take on BU at Nickerson Field. BU's team is currently 0-2, having lost to ASU and UConn.
