Four Eagles Named To Senior Bowl Watch List

Congrats to Towles, Johnson, Milano and Gutapfel

NCAA Football: Pinstripe Bowl-Boston College vs Penn State Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday, the Senior Bowl, a glorified NFL Draft exhibition, announced their “watch list” of seniors that could be heading to Mobile, Alabama for the game.

Four Boston College players made the list. Quarterback Patrick Towles, the Kentucky transfer and the presumptive starter going into week 1 against Georgia Tech was on the list. Defensive tackle Truman “War Daddy’ Gutapfel, the massive run stopper, also was included. Matt Milano, the play making linebacker who could be the star on defense along with John Johnson BC’s lockdown cornerback.

Can’t argue with these four making the list, they are all legitimate NFL prospects and with a good season at the Heights their stock could only rise. The one name that surprised me that was left off was running back Myles Willis. I know he is part of an offense that didn’t do much of anything last year, but he has that kind of speed and playmaking ability that attracts NFL teams. Who knows though, it’s just a watchlist, if Willis makes a few big plays to start the season, he could be heading to the Senior Bowl too.

There is a lot of football to be played before the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on January 27th, 2017. It would be great for the players and program if BC was able to send five players to this event.
