Haley Skarupa and Dana Trivigno have both signed to play for the Connecticut Whale next season. Both signed one-year, $20,000 deals with the Whale. They join Kelli Stack, Meagan Mangene, and Kaliya Johnson in Connecticut.
Skarupa was drafted fifth overall by the NY Riveters in the 2015 NWHL draft. He rights were traded to Connecticut earlier this year. Skarupa has two World Championship gold medals, and was an important offensive asset for the Eagles during her four years on the Heights.
Skarupa improved every season at BC, and recorded 79 points as a senior. She was second on the team in goals, assists, and points (behind Alex Carpenter, who signed with the Boston Pride on Sunday).
Trivigno was a favorite at BC because of her aggressive style of play. In addition to her 17 goals and 30 assists, Trivigno was assessed team-leading 58 penalty minutes as a senior. Trivigno, who was drafted at #13 in the 2015 draft, was on the same gold medal winning World Championship teams as Skarupa.
Trivigno and Skarupa will bring energy and offensive power to the Whale, along with some grit.
