BC standout and Patty Kazmaier award winner Alex Carpenter has signed with the Boston Pride. Carpenter signed a one-year, $19,000 deal with the Pride. Carpenter is unarguably one of the top NWHL prospect from the class of 2016.
Carpenter led Boston College in goals, assists, and points as a senior, junior and sophomore. She led the Eagles in goals and points as a freshman.
Carpenter is an Olympic silver medalist, two time World Championship gold medalist, two time Hockey East Player of the Year, Patty Kazmaier award winner, two time Hockey East scoring champion, and the 2016 female Eagle of the Year. She is the highest scoring women's hockey player in BC history with 278 career points. She has more career goals than any hockey player at BC, male or female - she surpassed Brian Gionta during her senior season. She also holds the BC women's hockey career records in: assists, points per game, assists per game, game winning goals, power play goals, and plus/minus.
If the Pride return most of their top players from last season, the addition of Carpenter has just made them a particularly formidable opponent.
