Josh Couturier Transferring to UMass

Earlier speculation suggested he would be heading to UNH.

Following rumors earlier this week that he would be transferring to UNH, Josh Couturier has confirmed that he will be playing for UMass. This is the most recent (and hopefully the last) in a summer of departures for the hockey team.

Couturier played in 33 games for BC last season, but would likely have seen his playing time decrease between the incoming freshman class and the emergence of Michael Kim. He scored 2 goals and recorded 4 assists as a freshman, and was assessed 24 penalty minutes.

BC has four freshman defenders set to join the team this fall: Mike Campoli, Connor Moore, Jesper Mattila (brother of incoming forward Julius Mattila), and Luke McInnis (son of Coach McInnis). In addition, BC has Michael Kim who was set to be a member of the 2016-17 class but matriculated early due to BC injuries.

Best of luck to Couturier as he continues his hockey career with the Minutemen!
