Last fall, Boston College hired J.M. Caparro as Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs in an effort to re-vamp and boost ticketing, marketing and fan engagement. Caparro previously worked as Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service for the Brooklyn Nets, and was cited by Brad Bates for his experience and creativity when hired by BC last year.
It’s not an easy job right now: a combination of historically poor performance by the football and men’s basketball teams, plus a general decline in ticket sales at live sporting events across the nation, makes connecting with fans and boosting sales a taller order.
Caparro was kind enough to agree to answer questions from BC Interruption and its readers about all things under his purview: ticket sales, marketing, fan engagement, and communications.
If you have questions about either customer service for current BC ticket-holders, or what BC’s doing to attract new fans, email your questions to BCInterruption@gmail.com and we’ll ask J.M. Try to submit your questions by the end of the day on Wednesday, July 20.
We’ll be posting an article with the responses next week.
