Boston College received their second commit for the Class of 2017 as local QB Austin Burton committed to the Eagles according to his Twitter feed:

Burton, the son of Boston sports caster Steve Burton, recently transferred to West Orange High School in Winter Garden Florida apparently because of a bevy of weapons according to the report. He will be taking over for current Auburn QB Woody Barrett. Last season Burton amassed 3,299 yards and 34 touchdowns, while rushing for 565 yards and six more scores. Austin is currently a 2* recruit, with offers mostly from lower level schools including FAU, FIU, UMass and UNH. Interestingly enough as I was writing this he received an offer from UCLA. He also has interest from Northwestern, Duke and Wisconsin.
Austin is the 2nd QB commit of the Class of 2017 joining EJ Perry IV, another Boston area recruit. It’ll be worth watching to see if he receives more interest as he plays in the south for his senior season. Even with the lower rating, Burton could be an absolute steal for the Eagles.
