The official match-ups and dates have been announced for this season's Frozen Fenway games. Boston College will be playing Providence on January 7th in the evening game. Boston University will play UMass in the early match. The other two games will be played on January 14th. Maine will take on UConn, followed by UNH vs. Northeastern. Additionally, on January 16th there will be a free skate for the public. Following Frozen Fenway 2017, all Hockey East men's teams will have played in a Frozen Fenway game.
As you may remember, the BCI writers don't love these games. It's a little silly that they're still being marketing as "once in a lifetime" experiences when they ... aren't. However, BC vs. PC should draw a good crowd - we wouldn't be surprised if it was the most well attended of the four. Additionally, all indications are that this is a PC home game, with BC hosting Providence on the Friday night just prior to this Fenway matchup - so that eliminates one of our other frequent gripes.
