Highlights as BC's season comes to an end

The heavily-favored Miami Hurricanes finally extinguished BC baseball's remarkable season on Sunday afternoon in Coral Gables, downing the Eagles 9-4 to take the winner-take-all Game 3. Miami moves on to Omaha for the College World Series.

Highlights:

Edgar Michelangeli's three-run homer in the second inning put BC in a deep hole early, giving Miami a 4-0 lead.

BC chipped away to close to within 5-3 in the seventh inning, but Michelangeli put the game to rest with a dramatic grand slam:

Michelangeli's, uh, emphatic celebration drew the ire of BC catcher Nick Sciortino, leading to a benches-clearing incident.

BC scored a run to draw to within 9-4, but Miami retired BC easily in the 9th to advance to Omaha:

That was all she wrote for BC, but this is certainly a season fans will not forget. Thanks to the Eagles for a great run!
