Although BC men's basketball won't be participating in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this season, BC will have a team in the event. The women's team looks to do what the men couldn't last season by defeating Penn State in the Challenge.
The Eagles will host Penn State at Conte Forum on Wednesday, November 30 in the 10th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge. This is BC women's ninth consecutive appearance in the event. The Eagles are currently 3-5 in the Challenge. This will be the third all-time meeting between BC and Penn State and will break the 1-1 tie between the programs. Penn State won the first matchup in 1984, but BC defeated Penn State in the 2010 ACC/Big Ten Challenge by a score of 113-104. In each game, the home team has won, so BC has an edge right off the bat.
Last season, Penn State went 6-12 in conference play and 12-19 overall. BC struggled in the ACC, going 2-14 last season, but they had a 15-16 overall record and started the season on an 11-1 hot streak. BC won their ACC/Big Ten Challenge game last year, defeating Purdue 58-56 on the road. BC's other two Challenge wins came in 2009 (BC 72, Iowa 67) and in the 2010 win over Penn State.
