Boston College wide receiver Troy Flutie was arrested on Saturday and Natick police charged him with operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor, possession of an open container of liquor while driving and being a person younger than 21 in possession of liquor. Police also cited Flutie with marked lane violations.
Flutie, a sophomore, was arraigned in Natick District Court today. Apparently he hit a curb which led to his his arrest.
Troy came to Boston College in 2014 as a quarterback, and spent much of last year battling Jeff Smith for the starting job. This spring he was moved over to wide receiver. He is the son of Darren Flutie, cousin of Billy and the nephew of Boston College legend Doug Flutie.
No other details of the arrest has been made public, nor has there been any official word from the Boston College football program. We will provide follow up information when it is made public.
