Yesterday we gave the bad news, that AJ Dillion was not interested in continuing his recruitment with the Eagles. Now here is some good news:
After strong consideration, the schools with which I will be furthering my recruitment are the following pic.twitter.com/vqi63EMu5F
— ⭐Luiji Vilain⭐ (@luiji_v) March 19, 2016
Vilain is a 4* defensive end, the #89 recruit in the country, overall. He has offers from almost every major school in the country, and yet somehow Boston College made the cut. True the odds are slim, given the list of other schools, but Vilain would be a game changer, a corner stone recruit for the program, and the highest rated recruit BC has had in over a decade.
How can Addazio close the deal on a kid like this? There are obviously some selling points. Even though Don Brown is gone, he can talk about the style of defense he runs at Boston College, and point the to the #1 defense in the country that they produced in 2015. Of course Don Brown can say the same thing as he attempts to recruit him to Michigan. Another aspect will be immediate playing time. Addazio hasn't been shy using true freshman on defense (i.e Zach Allen, Noa Merritt), something that has to be attractive to young recruits.
There is still a mountain to climb in terms of this recruit, but still it's positive news as we can see that some recruits still see Boston College in a positive light. Stay tuned for more information as his recruitment progresses.
