BC Interruption Three Stars of the Week, February 25

Back after a hiatus.

BCEagles.com

After a brief hiatus, our weekly three stars vote is back, with the race for Three Stars of the Year heating up. With baseball, softball and women's lacrosse underway along with other sports, it should make for a more interesting ballot each week. Let's go to this week's winners.

#1 Star... Dana Trivigno, women's hockey... 14 points, 4 first place votes

Trivigno led the way in BC's rollicking good time last weekend against the Providence College Friars in their regular season finale. The senior, who is heating up at the best possible time, racked up 6 points in 2 games last week, en route to Hockey East Player of the Week honors.

#2 Star... Mike King, baseball... 14 points, 2 first place votes

Mike King tossed 7 shutout, one hit innings of baseball in BC's season opening W over Northern Illinois, setting the tone for a weekend that would feature great all around play from the birdballers. In terms of total votes King ended level with Trivigno, losing out on #1 only via the tiebreaker.

#3 Star... Brad Bates, AD... 4 points,1 first place vote

There was a big split after the top 2, but there was love throughout the voting for BC finally rolling out a facilities plan that includes a football indoor practice facility. While they're not ready to break ground yet, going public was a huge, positive sign for a school that's been reluctant to lay out these plans as they go through the convoluted process of building in a Northeast city.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

#4 Ryan Fitzgerald, men's hockey... 3 points... Fitzgerald scored a pair of goals in Saturday's win over UVM.
#5 Kelly Hughes, WBB... 2 points... Hughes led the team in scoring in their most recent game and continues to be a bright spot for a team that's struggled through ACC play.
#6 Austin Cangelosi, men's hockey... 2 points... Cangelosi continues to impress in his junior year, making a big jump in scoring production and being one of the nation's best at faceoffs
#7 Toni Ann Miano, women's hockey...1 point... Miano racked up 5 points on the weekend against PC
#7 Logan Hoggarth, baseball... 1 point... another star of Birdball's sweep of NIU
#7 The Artists who did the Rendering of the Indoor Practice Facility... 1 point... because why not
