BC freshmen Jesper and Julius Mattila have both been invited to Team Finland's World Junior Camp. This Camp will be used in order to pick the final roster for the 2017 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
Jesper, a defenseman, has played in all 18 games for BC this season. He has 2 goals and 5 assists, as well as 9 blocks. Julius has been able to jump right into the BC lineup to provide solid defense for the Eagles without much of an adjustment period.
Julius, a forward, has played in 10 games this season. He missed 8 due to an injury, returning against ASU on November 13. He has 2 goals and 3 assists so far this season and has been playing much better than his point total may suggest. Julius already has 2 multi-point games this season after recording both a goal and an assist on 2 different occasion.
The World Junior Championship is taking place in Toronto and Montreal this year. It will run from December 26 – January 5. Finland is in Group A and will play against the Czech Republic, Sweden, Denmark, and Switzerland in the opening round.
