Boston College Leads Maryland 29-13 At The Half

Addazio pulling up all the stops

NCAA Football: Quick Lane Bowl-Boston College vs Maryland Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Boston College hasn’t scored 23 points against a Power 5 opponent since 2014 (Penn State), but they’ve already surpassed that number tonight as they lead 29-13 against the Maryland Terrapins in the Quick Lane Bowl.

Patrick Towles has been efficient, throwing two touchdown passes, one to Michael Walker and one to Tommy Sweeney. While also catching a touchdown pass from Jeff Smith as well. Jon Hilliman has the other touchdown, and has looked good as he has been a much more physical runner than we have seen.

Credit to Steve Addazio who has been very aggressive, with trick plays, tempo offense and a variety of things that Maryland clearly wasn’t ready for.

On defense the front seven has been killing Maryland, with four-five sacks in the first half, a strip sack and an interception by Harold Landry. They did however get burned on two touchdown runs by Ty Johnson who took advantage of their over aggressive scheme.

Special teams has been a struggle, as Mike Knoll has had an extra point blocked and another one he shanked.

Second half starts soon.
