Boston College - Rutgers Schedule Home And Home For 2026-2027

Another B1G opponent for the Eagles

NCAA Football: Quick Lane Bowl-Rutgers vs North Carolina Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston College future schedule continues to fill up as former Big East foe Rutgers has agreed to two matchups in the future. According to a report on FBSchedules.com, the Eagles and Scarlet Knights will face off in 2026 in Chestnut Hill, and in 2027 in New Jersey.

Boston College and Rutgers have a bit of a history, as the two schools have faced off 26 times, with the Eagles holding a 19-6-1 lead in the series. The two schools last faced off in 2004 in the Big East, with the Eagles prevailing 21-10.

I am fine with this opponent, again it’s better than a MAC level team, and infinitely better than an FCS sacrifice. While Rutgers is down now, they could return to the solid play they had under Greg Schiano under new head coach Chris Ash. There is some history between the two schools and they are regional foes fighting over recruits, so this game does have some storylines.
